Soft play

Our soft play area is the largest area within the nursery. In here we have large selection of soft play toys, bikes and trikes, slides and a ball pool. All here to help develop the children's physical abilities as well as social skills.

All the children in the nursery have access to the soft play area regardless of the room they are in.

The soft play area is used when it is not appropriate to take the children outside due to weather conditions. We also use the room for our parties, whole nursery activities and when we have special visitors in.

The Space ship

A long with the traditional home corner role play area, here at Redbrook we are very creative. With help from the children we came up with a role play idea all the children would have lots of fun exploring.

All the rooms have access to the space ship and in here there are many different areas which will help promote every area of development. In the space ship there are mark making areas, construction areas, dressing up materials and much, much more. As well as all of these areas just being in a space ship is a completly new experience which automatically indulges the children's imaginations.

Under the sea

When thinking of ideas for our space ship role play the children also loved the idea of being under the sea, swimming with the fishes!

Lucky for us, here at Redbrook we have lots of room so we were able to create both a space ship and an under the sea room.

In the under the sea room the children are introduced to a whole new experience with complete contrast to the space ship. There are lots of accessories and areas to enhance the children's imaginations and skills. Such areas are;

  • Board games
  • Book corner
  • Mark making
  • Dressing up
  • Touchy feely boxes

The Home corner

We also see the importance of having the traditional home corner as well as our more creative areas. In our home corner the children are able to role play real life situations in a safe environment. Our home corner also offers a range of areas which are, the kitchen, dining room, bedroom and laundry room.

  2. The grass area- We have a large grassed area where the children can freely play with a number of different outside toys.
  3. Sand and water trays- We have seperate sand and water trays in the garden which we regularly use for sand and water as well as more creative fillings.
  4. Our vegetable patch- During the warmer weather the children and staff grow there own vegetable which we use in our dinners.
  5. Our flower garden- The chldren have there own flower patch where the help to plant and look after the flowers of there choice.

All rooms have access to the garden and we make sure the toddlers and pre-school children have the opportunity to have ouside play each day.
