Fees Details of our fees are available on request. Fees are calculated on a ½ day or full day basis and include a mid-morning snack and a drink of milk or water, a light mid-afternoon snack and a two-course cooked meal for children attending for the day. Babies receive a cooked meal for dinner and tea. Parents are allowed 2 weeks holiday per year without fees.

Admissions policy We try our best to accommodate all new admissions but we are governed by the availability of a place in the appropriate childcare room and by our need to meet our maximum staff/child ratio. All applications are allocated in order of application date. We work on a minimum of one session a week. We encourage parents to visit the nursery with their child a couple of times to enable child, parent and staff to become acquainted and we also provide a settling in session where parents can either stay with their child or leave them in our care.

Registration information Redbrook day nursery is registered with the Care Standards Inspectorate for Wales (CSIW) and can provide care for 73 children under eight, at any one time. Our most recent inspection was in June 2007 and a copy of the inspection can be found on the "Links" page

Mini Bus We have our own mini bus which is used to take school age children to and from school and on outings.

Language through which care is provided The primary language through which care is provided at Redbrook Day Nursery is English. Some staff speak Welsh and this will be incorporated in day to day activities. We are also happy to discuss with parents any particular needs of children for whom English is an additional language

Children with special needs Redbrook Day Nursery has a detailed policy in place and parents are encouraged to read this. Each child is treated equally and all have the same access to learning opportunities. Parents of children with particular needs are welcome to visit and discuss such needs with management and staff.

Drop off and collection On arrival to nursery you will be greeted by a senior member of staff and your child’s arrival will be recorded in the room register. If at any time children are to be collected by someone other than parent/primary carer then we require authorisation and will ask for a picture or password. When you collect your child staff will inform parents of their child’s day in nursery and will also provide written information.

Child Care Vouchers We accept all Child Care Vouchers including Busy Bees, Leapfrog, Accor and Sodexho (see “Funding”).

Staff All of our staff at Redbrook Day Nursery are fully qualified and are continuously developing their skills by regularly attending trainning courses. Each member of staff are first aid trained and have many opportunities to further their qualifications. Ratios Each of our rooms work on a different carer/ child ratio. The ratios in which we work are: Baby room 1:3 Toddler room 1:4 Pre-school room 1:8 We always ensure that each room is appropriatly staffed but we continuously strive to have extra staff in each room to allow the children the care and attention they deserve. Routines All children in our care are treated individually and we follow parent's wishes at all times. Before a child joins the nursery we discuss with parents the routine they wish us to follow, this helps the child to settle into nursery with more confidence and enables staff to get to know the child and understand their needs more fully. Holiday club As Redbrook can cater for children up to 8 years old, why not take advantage of our Holiday Club where your children can enjoy all the facilities we have here. Plus you are entitled to the 10% discount we offer to parents working on the estate.
